Anfeng Cheng is a Senior R&D Engineer in Baidu Inc., focusing on the ranking strategy. She received her Ph.D. (2020) in Computer Science from the Institute of Information Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Her research interests include social network analysis, graph neural networks and data mining.

Suqi Cheng

Suqi Cheng is a Senior Algorithm Engineer at Baidu Inc.. She currently focuses on learning to rank and query understanding for web search. Previously, she was a Senior Researcher at Tencent Inc., designing algorithms for news recommendation. Prior to Tencent Inc., she worked at 360 Inc., doing user modeling and advertising strategy optimization. She received Ph.D. degree from the Institute of Computing Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2014, supervised by Prof. Guojie Li and Prof. Xueqi Cheng. During Phd, her research interests covered data mining, social and information network analysis, influence maximization. She has published papers in top-tier IR conferences including SIGIR and CIKM.

Li Gao

Li Gao is a Senior R&D Engineer in Baidu Search, focusing on the ranking strategy. Previously, he worked as a senior researcher at Tencent Inc. (2018-2019). Before that, he received his Ph.D. (2018) in Computer Science from the Institute of Information Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences. His research interests include graph mining and recommender system.

Chenliang Li

Chenliang Li is a Research Professor with School of Cyber Science and Engineering, Wuhan University in China. He is a visiting scholar in the search science team at Baidu Inc. His research areas include Information Retrieval, Text Mining, Natural Language Processing and Social Computing. He has published over 60 paper in leading conferences and journals, was the recipient of SIGIR 2016 Best Student Paper Award Honorable Mention. Currently, Chenliang serves as an Associate Editor for ACM TOIS, ACM TALLIP, and an editorial board member of JASIST and IPM. He has been a PC member of many leading conference, such as SIGIR, WWW, ACL, WSDM, AAAI, CIKM.

Yiding Liu

Yiding Liu is a Senior R&D Engineer in Baidu Search. He received Ph.D. (2020) from Nanyang Technological University, and B.Eng. (2015) from University of Electronic Science and Technology of China. His research interests include large-scale information retrieval, applied machine learning, spatiotemporal data mining, etc. He has published over 10 papers in top-tier conferences, e.g., KDD, VLDB and SIGIR.

Tianshu Lyu

Tianshu Lyu is now a researcher in news search team at Baidu Inc.. Her research interests lie in the general area of machine learning and data mining, particularly in graph data mining. She obtained Ph.D. degree from Department of EECS, Peking University in 2020. In the spring of 2018, she was a research intern in feeds recommendation team at Alibaba Group. In the winter of 2018, she was a research intern in recommendation team at Hulu LLC. In the summer of 2019, she was a software intern in GPay team at Google.

Lei Shi

Lei Shi is now a Senior R&D Engineer in the video search team at Baidu Inc.. He received the Ph.D. (2018) in Computer Science from Institute of Software, Chinese Academy of Sciences and the B.E. (2012) from Wuhan University. He was a research intern at Microsoft Research Asia (Apr 2013 - Jan 2014) and a SDE intern at Search Technology Center, Microsoft (Nov 2011 - Apr 2012). His research interests include recommender systems, natural language processing, and machine learning.

Mohan Shi

Mohan Shi is a R&D Engineer in Baidu Inc.. Currently he focuses on query understanding for Baidu search engine. He received master degree from Beijing Jiaotong university in 2019. At school his research interest includes time series classification. He has published paper in PAKDD 18'.

Lixin Su

Lixin Su is a Senior R&D Engineer in Baidu Search. He received Ph.D. (2021) in Computer Science from Institute of Computing Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and B.Eng. (2015) from Beijing Jiaotong University. His research interests include information retrieval, question answering, natural language understanding, etc. He has published several papers in top-tier IR conferences, e.g., SIGIR, CIKM and WSDM.

Haoliang Tan

Haoliang Tan received the B.E. and M.E. degrees from Xi'an Jiaotong University in 2018 and 2021 respectively. He is currently a R&D Engineer at Baidu Inc.. Before that, he worked in Baidu IDL (Institute of Deep Learning) and KuaiShou Inc. as a Research Intern for half a year and one year respectively. His research interests include pattern recognition, recommendation systems, and machine learning.

Shuaiqiang Wang

Shuaiqiang Wang is currently a Senior Algorithm Engineer at Baidu Inc., leading the ranking strategy group that advances the document ranking for the Baidu Search Engine. Previously, he was a Research Scientist and Senior Algorithm Engineer at JD Inc., taking responsibility for the feed recommendation at JD.com. Before that, he worked as an Assistant Professor at the University of Manchester in the UK in 2017 and the University of Jyvaskyla in Finland from 2014 to 2017 respectively. Earlier, he served as an Associate Professor at Shandong University of Finance and Economics in China from 2011 to 2014, and a Postdoctoral Researcher at Texas State University in the USA from 2010 to 2011. He received Ph.D. and B.Sc. in Computer Science from Shandong University in 2009 and 2004 respectively. Shuaiqiang served as Senior PC Member of IJCAI, and PC Member of WWW, SIGIR and WSDM in recent years. He is broadly interested in several research areas including information retrieval, recommender systems and data mining. He published over 50 papers in leading journals and conferences.

Xiaoyang Wang

Xiaoyang Wang is the Senior R&D Engineer in Baidu Inc.. He received Ph.D. from School of Computer and Information Technology at Beijing Jiaotong University. He was a visiting scholar in the Data Science and Engineering Lab at Michigan State University in 2019. He was also an intern in the search team at Youku Inc. in 2017. His research interests include data mining, social network analysis, and graph neural networks.

Xiaochi Wei

Xiaochi Wei is a Senior R&D Engineer in Baidu Inc. He received Ph.D degree from Beijing Institute of Technology in 2018, under the supervision of Prof. Heyan Huang. He visited National University of Singapore from 2015 to 2016, under the supervision of Prof. Tat-Seng Chua. He was a research intern at Microsoft Research Asia in 2014, under the supervision of Dr. Chin-Yew Lin. His research interests include question answering, multi-media information retrieval, and recommender systems. He has published over 20 papers in top conferences and journals, e.g., SIGIR, AAAI, IJCAI, MM, TKDE, and TOIS. He has served as PC member in severals conferences, e.g., AAAI, IJCAI, ACL, and EMNLP.

Long Xia

Long Xia is a senior research scientist in the search science team at Baidu Inc., managing the news search team. Previously, he worked as a research associate on Information Retrieval at York University (2019-2020) and was a research scientist of the Data Science Lab at JD.com (2017-2019). Before that, he received his Ph.D. (2017) in Computer Science from the Institute of Computing Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. His research interests include information retrieval, applied machine learning, and data mining.

Xiangzhen Xu

Xiangzhen Xu is a Senior R&D Engineer in Baidu Search. He received the master's degree from Shandong University (2018). His main interests are information retrieval, data mining and natural language understanding. He has published several papers in international journals and conferences.

Wenwen Ye

Wenwen Ye is a Senior R&D Engineer in Baidu Search. He received Ph.D. (2020) in School of Software at Tsinghua University, and B.Eng. (2014) from Beijing Institute of Technology. Dawei Yin

Director of Search Science

Dawei Yin is Engineering Director at Baidu Inc.. He is managing the search science team at Baidu, leading Baidu’s science efforts of web search, question answering, video search, image search, news search, app search, etc.. Previously, he was Senior Director, managing the recommendation engineering team at JD.com between 2016 and 2020. Prior to JD.com, he was Senior Research Manager at Yahoo Labs, leading relevance science team and in charge of Core Search Relevance of Yahoo Search. He obtained Ph.D. (2013), M.S. (2010) from Lehigh University and B.S. (2006) from Shandong University. From 2007 to 2008, he was an M.Phil. student in The University of Hong Kong. His research interests include data mining, applied machine learning, information retrieval and recommender system. He published more than 80 research papers in premium conferences and journals, and was the recipients of WSDM2016 Best Paper Award, KDD2016 Best Paper Award, WSDM2018 Best Student Paper Award, and ICHI 2019 Best Paper Honorable Mention.

Wei Zeng

Jiashu Zhao

Jiashu Zhao is an assistant professor at the Department of Physics and Computer Science, Wilfrid Laurier University, Canada. She is a visiting scholar in the search science team at Baidu Inc.. Her research focuses on Information Retrieval, Machine Learning and Big Data Applications. She worked as a scientist at the data science lab of JD.COM (China, 2017-2019), a Post Doc and lecturer at York University (Canada, 2015–2017), a data scientist at TD Canada Trust (Canada, 2016–2017), and an intern scientist at Yahoo Labs (U.S., 2013). Jiashu Zhao received her PhD from York University in Canada, Master and Bachelor (Special Class for Gifted Young) from Xi’an Jiaotong University in China.

Wenxuan Zhou

Wenxuan Zhou is a Staff R&D Engineer at Baidu Inc.. He received a Master degree (2019) from Soochow University. He was a research intern at Baidu Inc. (Feb 2018 - Sep 2018). Lixin Zou

Lixin Zou is the Senior R&D Engineer in Baidu Search. He received a Ph.D. (2020) from the Department of Computer Science and Technology at Tsinghua University, Beijing, China. Before that, he obtained the B.Eng. (2015) in Microelectronics at Northwestern Polytechnical University, Shannxi, China. In 2018, he had a short-time exchanging in the RALI Lab at the University of Montreal In Canada. His main interests are information retrieval, reinforcement learning, and recommender system. He has published several papers in top-tier IR conferences, e.g., KDD, SIGIR and WSDM.

Qian Dong

Qian Dong is an intern in Baidu Inc. He is currently pursuing the Ph.D degree at Tsinghua University (THU). Before joining THU, he received the B.Eng.(2019) M.Eng.(2022) in South China University of Technology (SCUT) and Institute of Software, Chinese Academy of Sciences (ISCAS) respectively. The research interest of him lies in information retrieval (IR) including text retrieval/reranking, recommendation, knowledge enhanced pretrained language models for IR, etc. Several top-tier IR related papers have been published by him. He is willing to communicate about any research topic.

Xiaokai Chu

Xiaokai Chu is now an intern in Baidu Inc. He received his B.Sc. (2016) in University of Science and Technology of China. Currently, he is a Phd candidate in Institute of Computing Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, supervised by Prof.Jingping Bi. He focuses on data mining on graphs, pre-training language models, and learning-to-rank. He has published several papers in top-tier data mining conferences, such as KDD, WWW, SIGIR and CIKM.

Lan Jiang

Lan Jiang is an intern in the search science team at Baidu Inc.. She is currently a first-year master student at Tsinghua University. Her research interests span from Information Retrieval to Natural Language Processing. She published a paper on the 2019 Conference on Empirical Methods in Natural Language Processing and the 9th International Joint Conference on Natural Language Processing (EMNLP 2019). In the autumn of 2019, she was a research intern in Wechat AI at Tencent Group.

Juanhui Li

Juanhui Li is an intern at Baidu Inc.. She received the M.Eng. (2020) in Computer Science and Technology and B.Eng. (2017) in Software Engineering at Sun Yat-sen University, Guangzhou, China. She is currently pursuing the Ph.D. degree in the DSE lab at Michigan State University. Her research interests include network embedding and graph neural networks. She has published several papers in international journals and conferences.

Xiao Li

Xiao Li is an intern at Baidu Inc.. She is studying for the master's degree in software engineering at present. Her research interests include the query matching and discourse analysis. In the last October, She published a paper on the 28th International Conference on Computational Linguistics (COLING 2020) held in Barcelona, Spain, which is an important international conference in the field of natural language processing.

Zhidan Wang

She is currently pursuing the Ph.D. degree at Tsinghua University. Her research interests mainly include information retrieval and recommender system. Feixiang Xu

Feixiang Xu is an intern at Baidu Inc.. He received the B.Eng. (2018) in Network Engineering at University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC) and he is studying for his master's degree at present. His research mostly focus on the multi-view action recognition and video classification. He is also interested in motion capture and multiple view geometric in computer vision. He has published two papers in ACM MM 18' and ACM MM 19'. He was an intern at Tencent and Ant Group.

Li Zhang

Li Zhang is an intern in the search science team at Baidu Inc.. She is currently a fourth-year PhD student at the Unversity of Sheffield. Her research interests include Graph Representation Learning, Graph Neural Networks (GNNs), Knowledge Graph-based Recommender System.
